My Bio

Getting back to the basics. The kids are not okay. Record per-pupil spending is not producing any tangible and positive results. Students are graduating without being able to read, write or do math. The evidence is in the low academic achievement results. We need to get back to the basics and teach students to read, write and do math. This is the key to gaining effective critical thinking skills. Let’s get back to the basics and teach!

My Key Issues

Academic Accountability

Back-to-Basics Curriculum: Mandate phonics-based reading, traditional math instruction, and structured writing programs.

Proficiency-Based Graduation: Require students to pass basic literacy and numeracy exams before receiving diplomas.

Remediation Over Promotion: End social promotion by requiring mastery of core subjects before advancing grades.

Funding & Resource Realignment

Classroom-First Budgeting: Direct a fixed, high percentage of per-pupil spending exclusively to direct instruction and core classrooms.

Audit and Reform: Audit current school district spending to cut administrative overhead and redirect funds to basic skills.

Performance Incentives: Tie a portion of school funding directly to improvements in reading and math scores.

Teacher & Instruction Focus

Core Subject Training: Focus professional development entirely on effective methods for teaching reading, writing, and arithmetic.

Simplified Job Descriptions: Reduce non-academic administrative burdens so teachers can focus solely on instruction.

Merit Pay: Reward educators who demonstrate high growth in student literacy and numeracy metrics.

Curriculum Transparency & Choice

Open Curriculum Policies: Give parents full, digital access to all teaching materials to ensure a focus on core academic subjects.

Targeted School Choice: Allow education funds to follow students to alternative programs if local schools fail to meet basic proficiency standards.

Parental Input Panels: Create oversight committees focused strictly on monitoring academic achievement in core subjects.
